Being stuck in a place where you should feel safe, but the walls are closing in.
Trying to make the most of what you have,
And stifling the internal screaming that comes from knowing it's not enough.
The weight of impossible expectations.
Working to fit in where you're not wanted.
Good, but not good enough.
Wanting to escape but unable to see a way out.
Aware there are borders, but not knowing where they lie.
Uncomfortably contorted between freedom and safety.
Feeling powerless while knowing you have so much to give.
Exhausted from it all.
No time or means to recover.
Internal / external.
Personal, environmental, local and global.
Everywhere and nowhere.
Anywhere but here.

A handmade, cut, carved and layered wood fox sculpture in an 80 yr old tool box, painted in acrylics. Tool box retains it's original hardware, with added black solid brass feet.
