"Blue Black is a traditional manuscript paper made for Tibetan Buddhist loose leaf books. The paper is layered resho made from the bark of de-nar, a high growing variety of lokta from the Himalayan forests of Eastern Bhutan. This is a sustainable and renewable resource. The paper is coated with ground lapis lazuli (a blue grey colour) and carbon. The carbon surface is hand burnished, traditionally for writing in gold or silver."
Signed and dated on reverse.
Unframed. Due the the nature of the paper and the way it is made, this painting will not lie completely flat and will require float mounting within a box frame.
